Anglická heavymetalová skupina Black Sabbath patří mezi průkopníky žánru. Kapelu v roce 1968 v Birminghamu založili zpěvák Ozzy Osbourne, kytarista Tony Iommi, baskytarista Geezer Butler a bubeník Bill Ward. Skupina si vytvořila charakteristický styl s důraznými kytarovými riffy a hororovými texty.
Album Vol.4 z roku 1972 patří k milníkům heavy metalu. Toto superluxní box set vydání na pěti CD obsahuje nově remasterovanou verzi původního alba z roku 2021, outtakes v mixu Stevena Wilsona, alternativní nahrávky skladeb jako Wheels of Confusion, Supernaut či Snowblind, a kompletní koncertní záznam z turné po Velké Británii v roce 1973 v mixu Richarda Digby Smithe. Součástí balení je také kniha a plakát skupiny.
V době nahrávání alba byla sestava Black Sabbath tvořena Ozzym Osbournem, Tonym Iommim, Geezerem Butlerem a Billem Wardem.
