Black Sabbath je britská heavymetalová skupina založená v Birminghamu v roce 1968, považovaná za průkopníka žánru heavy metal. Kapela definovala žánr zejména alby Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970) a Master of Reality (1971).
Kompilace The Dio Years vyšla v roce 2007 u vydavatelství Warner Bros. Records a zachycuje éru skupiny se zpěvákem Ronniem Jamesem Diem. Album obsahuje 16 remasterovaných skladeb ze studiových alb Heaven and Hell (1980), Mob Rules (1981) a Dehumanizer (1992), živou verzi „Children of the Sea“ z alba Live Evil (1982) a tři nové skladby natočené v roce 2007: „The Devil Cried“, „Shadow of the Wind“ a „Ear in the Wall“. Na americkém žebříčku Billboard se album umístilo na 54. pozici.
