Ennio Morricone (1928–2020) byl italský skladatel, dirigent a orchestrátor, jehož hudba definovala zvuk moderního filmu. Složil více než 500 filmových a televizních skladeb a stal se jedním z nejvlivnějších skladatelů filmové hudby v historii. Proslul především hudbou k italským westernům Sergia Leoneho, přestože jen asi 30 ze stovek jeho prací patří tomuto žánru. Získal dva Oscary, tři ceny Grammy, šest BAFTA a řadu dalších ocenění.
Kompilace 60 Years Of Music vyšla v roce 2016 na CD u Decca Records a zahrnuje 38 skladeb na 2 discích. Album nabízí průřez šesti desetiletími Morriconeho tvorby – od ikonických motivů westernů (The Man With the Harmonica, The Ecstasy of Gold, hlavní téma z Dobrý, zlý a ošklivý) přes lyrické melodie z Cinema Paradiso (Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, Love Theme) až po dramata jako Gabriel's Oboe z Mission a Deborah's Theme z Tenkrát v Americe. Zastoupena je i hudba k Tarantinovým Osmi hrozným (Stage Coach to Red Rock, Bestiality), za niž Morricone získal svého druhého Oscara.
