Slayer je americká thrashmetalová kapela z Kalifornie, založená v roce 1981. Spolu se skupinami Metallica, Megadeth a Anthrax tvoří tzv. velkou čtyřku thrash metalu — čtyři kapely, které žánr výrazně rozvinuly a zpopularizovaly.
Jubilejní vydání Hell Awaits k 40. výročí přináší na LP druhé studiové album skupiny z roku 1985. Rychlý a agresivní zvuk desky upevnil pozici Slayer mezi průkopníky thrash metalu. Album obsahuje skladby jako Hell Awaits, Crypts Of Eternity nebo At Dawn They Sleep.
Původní sestavu tvořili kytaristé Kerry King a Jeff Hanneman, baskytarista a zpěvák Tom Araya a bubeník Dave Lombardo.
