Gerry Rafferty byl skotský zpěvák a skladatel, známý pro své sólové hity Baker Street, Right Down the Line a Night Owl. Byl také zakládajícím členem skupiny Stealers Wheel, jejíž největší hit Stuck in the Middle with You vyšel v roce 1973.
Album Night Owl je jeho třetí studiová deska, která vyšla v roce 1979. Tato vinylová reedice přináší remasterované verze všech deseti skladeb z originálu. Mezi skladbami najdeme titulní Night Owl, hitový singl Get It Right Next Time nebo úvodní Days Gone Down (Still Got the Light in Your Eyes). Album ukazuje Rafferty na vrcholu jeho sólové kariéry.
