Nina Simone, vlastním jménem Eunice Kathleen Waymon, byla americká zpěvačka, pianistka a skladatelka, jejíž tvorba zahrnovala jazz, blues, soul i gospel. Její kontraaltový hlas a klavírní styl ovlivněný Bachem jí vysloužily přízvisko „Velekněžka soulu“.
Album Amazing Nina Simone vychází na LP a nabízí sedmnáct nahrávek představujících šíři jejího hudebního spektra — od jazzových standardů jako Willow Weep For Me a Stompin' At the Savoy přes kompozice I Loves You Porgy a My Baby Just Cares For Me až po lyričtější kousky jako Solitaire. Deska ukazuje Simone jako všestrannou interpretku schopnou s lehkostí přecházet od swingu k blues a intimním baladám.
