Howard Shore je kanadský skladatel filmové hudby, třikrátný držitel Oscara za hudbu k trilogii Pán prstenů. Jeho dílo zahrnuje více než 80 filmových partitur a dlouholetou spolupráci s režiséry Peterem Jacksonem a Davidem Cronenbergem. Pro hudbu k Jacksonově fantasy ságe studoval Shore leitmotivickou techniku Richarda Wagnera.
Album The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack vyšlo v prosinci 2014 u vydavatelství Decca Records jako soundtrack k závěrečnému dílu trilogie Hobit režiséra Petera Jacksona. Orchestrální nahrávka obsahuje 21 skladeb na dvou CD, sbory byly zaznamenány ve studiu Abbey Road a Air Studios v Londýně. Mezi klíčové skladby patří Fire and Water, Battle for the Mountain, Sons of Durin nebo závěrečná The Last Goodbye.
