Saxon jsou britská heavymetalová skupina založená v roce 1975 v Barnsley, Yorkshire, která patří mezi přední jména nové vlny britského heavy metalu (NWOBHM). V 80. letech měli osm alb v britské Top 40 a úspěch sklízeli po celé Evropě i v Japonsku.
Kompilace Decade of the Eagle: The Anthology 1979–1988 na vinylu vyšla v roce 2017 u vydavatelství Union Square Music a přináší 34 skladeb z nejslavnější dekády kapely. Antologie zachycuje období jejich největší slávy od debutu až po konec 80. let, kdy Saxon definovali zvuk NWOBHM svým charakteristickým těžkým rifováním a energickými koncertními výstupy. Mezi zastoupenými skladbami nechybí Wheels of Steel, Princess of the Night, Denim and Leather či The Eagle Has Landed.
V době vydání této kompilace tvořili Saxon čtveřici Biff Byford (zpěv), Paul Quinn a Doug Scarratt (kytary) a Nibbs Carter (baskytara).
