Georg Friedrich Händel (1685–1759) byl německý barokní skladatel, který od roku 1712 žil v Londýně a získal britské občanství. Spolu s Bachem a Telemannem patří k nejhranějším barokním autorům. Složil přes čtyřicet oper a třicítku oratorií, slávu mu přineslo především oratorium Mesiáš. Jeho korunovační hymna Zadok the Priest zní od roku 1727 při každé korunovaci britského panovníka.
Album Händel Goes Wild vyšlo v roce 2017 u vydavatelství Erato a obsahuje 15 skladeb – árií a instrumentálních částí z Händelových oper a oratorií. Nahrávka propojuje klasický barok s prvky improvizace a moderního přístupu. Zastoupeny jsou opery Rinaldo, Alcina, Giulio Cesare in Egitto či Serse a oratoria Semele a Solomon. Mezi vyzdvihovanými skladbami jsou árie Lascia ch'io pianga, Ombra mai fu, Piangerò la sorte mia a orchestrální The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.
