New Order je britská rocková kapela, významný představitel žánru new wave a synthpopu. Vznikla v roce 1980 z pozůstavších členů Joy Division po sebevraždě jejich zpěváka Iana Curtise. Skupinu tvoří Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris a Gillian Gilbert; v 80. letech proslula propojením post-punku s elektronikou a tanečními rytmy.
Album Low-Life vyšlo v květnu 1985 na Factory Records a v pořadí je třetím studiovým počinem New Order. Deska představuje moment, kdy kapela definitivně dokončila svou proměnu z post-punkového kořene v synth-popový zvuk, který ovlivnil celou generaci. Nahrávku charakterizují studené syntezátorové textury, melodické basové linky a experimentální produkce. Obsahuje kultovní skladby The Perfect Kiss, Love Vigilantes či instrumentální Elegia. Toto rozšířené vydání na pěti discích nabízí původní album, raritní instrumentální verze a writing session nahrávky, koncertní záznamy z Tokia, Rotterdamu, Toronta a dalších měst z roku 1985. Většina bonusových materiálů nebyla předtím nikdy vydána.
V době vydání alba byla sestava čtyřčlenná: Bernard Sumner (kytara, zpěv, syntezátory), Peter Hook (baskytara, syntezátory), Stephen Morris (bicí, perkuse, syntezátory) a Gillian Gilbert (kytara, syntezátory).
