Muse je anglická rocková skupina tvořená Mattem Bellamym (kytara, zpěv, klávesy), Dominicem Howardem (bicí) a Christopherem Wolstenholmem (baskytara, doprovodné vokály). Hudebně kombinují alternativní a progresivní rock s vlivy klasické hudby, elektrotechniky a heavy metalu, známí jsou energickými a vizuálně působivými živými vystoupeními.
Absolution vyšlo v září 2003 u Taste Media a stalo se prvním albem skupiny na vrcholu britské a francouzské prodejní hitparády. Zvukově propojuje bombastické kytarové riffy („Stockholm Syndrome“), funkové rytmy („Time Is Running Out“) a orchestrální klavírní pasáže („Butterflies & Hurricanes“), lyrika pojednává o strachu, nedůvěře a apokalyptických tématech ovlivněných začátkem války v Iráku. Singlové hity Time Is Running Out a Hysteria pomohly skupině proniknout na americký trh. Dvacáté výročí vydání na 5 CD přináší remasterovanou původní nahrávku, dříve nevydané koncertní a demo verze a sběratelské bonusové materiály.
