Michael Schenker Group je hardrocková kapela založená v roce 1979 kolem německého kytaristy Michaela Schenkera. Soubor je ve skutečnosti Schenkerovým sólovým projektem zaměřeným na jeho kytarovou hru, kterou doprovázejí stále se měnící řady spoluhráčů.
Boxset Live & Ready the Best of Msg Live 1980 - 1984 na šesti CD zachycuje živé vystoupení z raných osmdesátých let, kdy kapela upevňovala svou pozici na hardrockovém pódiu. Na vydání zastoupeném labelem Nuclear Blast se objevují klasické skladby jako „Doctor Doctor“, „Armed and Ready“, „Cry For the Nations“, „Into the Arena“ či „Rock Bottom“, dále instrumentální kousky typu „Courvoisier Concerto“ a koncertní úderky jako „Attack of the Mad Axeman“.
