Legion of the Damned je nizozemská thrash/death metalová kapela z Heldenu, která od roku 2005 působí pod tímto názvem (předtím jako Occult). Ve svých textech se zaměřuje na hororové motivy, temnou okultní tematiku, náboženské otázky a apokalyptické představy.
Album The Poison Chalice vyšlo v roce 2023 u vydavatelství Napalm Records jako dvojité CD v digipackovém balení a obsahuje 25 skladeb. První disk přináší nový studiový materiál včetně skladeb Contamination, Skulls Adorn the Traitor's Gate či Beheading of the Godhead. Druhý disk obsahuje nahrávky, které vznikly pro stream European Metal Festival Alliance 2020, čímž publikum získává unikátní živý zážitek z tohoto online festivalu.
V době vydání alba vystupovala kapela jako šestičlenná sestava: Maurice Swinkels (zpěv), Richard Ebisch a Twan van Geel (kytary), Fabian Verweij (kytara), Harold Gielen (baskytara) a Erik Fleuren (bicí).
