Slavná britská rocková skupina, jejíž ústřední postavou je zpěvák, kytarista a hráč na flétnu Ian Anderson, vznikla v roce 1967. Jethro Tull se původně věnovali experimentálnímu blues rocku, později jejich hudba vstřebala prvky klasické hudby, folku, jazzu i hard rocku. S deskou Stand Up se v roce 1969 dostali na čelo britské hitparády, nehynoucí slávu jim ale zajistila především deska Aqualung z roku 1971.
Skupina pokračuje ve zveřejňování rozšířených verzí jednotlivých desek. Bursting Out je prvním koncertním albem Jethro Tull. Bylo pořízeno na několika lokacích během evropského turné Heavy Horses v květnu a červnu 1978. Podobně jako v předchozích případech se i tentokrát jedná o nové mixy Stevena Wilsona, dále je k dispozici záznam z Madison Square Garden, 5.1 surround zvuk a audio v kvalitě 96/24. Kromě toho je na DVD zpřístupněn dobový video záznam, jenž byl součástí transatlantického vysílání BBC a Radio 1.
