Carpenters bylo americké sourozenecké duo, které působilo v oblasti popu a soft rocku především v sedmdesátých letech. Tvořili ho Karen Anne Carpenter a Richard Lynn Carpenter. Jejich hladký a jemný zvuk oslovil miliony posluchačů na celém světě.
Kompilace Carpenters Gold vyšla v roce 1998 u vydavatelství A&M Records jako dvoudiskový set obsahující 40 skladeb. Zahrnuje největší hity dua včetně We've Only Just Begun, Top of the World, Yesterday Once More a Superstar. Kolekce představuje přehled tvorby skupiny, která během čtrnáctileté kariéry nahrála jedenáct studiových alb a umístila dvanáct singlů v Top 10 amerických žebříčků.
