James Brown (1933–2006) byl americký zpěvák a skladatel, průkopník funku a jedna z nejvýznamnějších postav populární hudby 20. století. Mezi jeho přezdívky patří „Godfather of Soul“, „Mr. Dynamite“ či „Soul Brother No. 1“.
