Terence Blanchard je americký jazzový trumpetista a skladatel, čtyřikrát oceněný cenou Grammy. Je autorem více než 80 filmových a televizních hudeb a dvakrát byl nominován na Oscara – za soundtracky k filmům BlacKkKlansman a Da 5 Bloods režiséra Spikea Leeho, s nímž dlouhodobě spolupracuje.
Album Absence vyšlo v roce 2021 u vydavatelství Blue Note a obsahuje 12 skladeb. Nahrávka spojuje Blanchardovu trumpetu s moderními jazzovými aranžemi a přináší kompozice dlouhé i přes 10 minut, jako je The Second Wave. Mezi dalšími stopami najdeme skladby The Elders, I Dare You nebo Diana.
