Ayreon je projekt nizozemského multiinstrumentalisty Arjena Lucassena, jenž kombinuje progressive metal se symfonickými prvky a rockovými operami. Texty se pohybují ve sci-fi a fantasy kulisách s mírovým a ekologickým poselstvím.
Album 01011001: Live Beneath the Waves vyšlo v roce 2024 u vydavatelství Music Theories Recordings jako živé provedení konceptuálního alba 01011001 z roku 2008. Trojdiskové CD obsahuje 40 skladeb nahraných během koncertů v září 2023 v sále 013 v Tilburgu. Mezi zaznamenanými skladbami jsou Age of Shadows, Beneath the Waves, The Fifth Extinction či The Day That the World Breaks Down.
Sestavu při natáčení tvořili Arjen Anthony Lucassen, bubeník Ed Warby, klávesista Joost van den Broek, Jeroen Goossens (dřevěné dechové nástroje) a houslista Ben Mathot.
