Autopsy je americká death metalová kapela založená Chrisem Reifertem, který předtím hrál na bicí v kapele Death na albu Scream Bloody Gore. Společně s Death, Obituary a Suffocation patří mezi průkopníky death metalu.
Mental Funeral, druhé studiové album skupiny, vyšlo 22. dubna 1991 u vydavatelství Peaceville Records. Nahrávka vznikla v Different Fur Studios v San Franciscu a kapela od počátku zamýšlela ponechat zvuk s minimem úprav při mixu. Album obsahuje 15 skladeb včetně demonahrávky Ridden With Disease a živé verze Service for a Vacant Coffin. Mezi výrazné skladby patří Twisted Mass of Burnt Decay, In the Grip of Winter a Slaughterday.
Na nahrávce se podíleli Eric Cutler a Danny Coralles na kytarách, Chris Reifert na bicích a na basové pozici Steve Cutler s Joshem Barohem.
