Afflicted byla švédská death metalová kapela ze Stockholmu, založená roku 1988 původně pod názvem Afflicted Convulsion. Označovala svůj styl jako „Psychodelic Ultraviolent Heavy Grindcore“ a spojovala technical death metal s prvky thrash metalu.
Kompilace Beyond Redemption / Demos & Eps 1989-1992 na trojitém LP shromažďuje raný materiál – demonahrávky Toxic Existence a Psychedelic Grindcore z roku 1989, dema Beyond Redemption a The Odious Reflection z let 1990–1991, promo nahrávky a EP Rising to the Sun z roku 1992. Celkem obsahuje 30 skladeb dokumentujících vývoj kapely před vydáním debutového studiového alba, včetně několika verzí skladeb jako Utilization či Parental Infanticide.
