Pink Floyd jsou nepochybně jednou z nejzásadnějších skupin hudební historie. Jejich experimentální rocková muzika ovlivnila miliony posluchačů a inspirovala několik generací hudebníků. Vždy je zdobil pro-gresivní přístup při hledání nových možností, kladli důraz na koncepční propojení zvuku s obrazem. Měli jedinečné nápady a pořádali originální výpravné koncerty. Od roku 1964, kdy vznikli, natočili čtrnáct studio-vých alb. Těžko hledat slavnější art-rockovou skupinu!

Skupina připravila výpravný komplet The Early Years 1965-1972, obsáhlý soubor nahrávek zahrnující nevydané demosnímky, televizní vystoupení, živé záznamy i další archiválie z uvedeného období. Sběratel-ská lahůdka nabízí na deseti CD, devíti Blu-ray discích, jedenácti DVD a pěti sedmipalcových vinylových sin-glech především přes dvacet nevydaných písní včetně Vegetable Man a In The Beechwoods z roku 1967, přemíchané a předělané verze skladeb z filmu Zabriskie Point z roku 1970, sedm hodin dříve nezveřejně-ných živých audio nahrávek, více než patnáct hodin video záznamů raritních koncertních vystoupení a roz-hovorů, tři celovečerní filmy... Jde o jedinečný pohled na ranou tvorbu jedné z nejdůležitějších hudebních skupin všech dob, o příležitost slyšet, jak se měnila tvář kapely od singlu Arnold Layne k dvacetiminutové-mu epickému kusu Echoes. The Early Years 1965-1972 detailním způsobem mapuje, jak se vyvíjela cesta Pink Floyd od setkání Rogera Waterse, Richarda Wrighta, Nicka Masona a Syda Barretta v londýnské Regent Street Polytechnic přes odchod Syda Barretta a okamžik, kdy se ke skupině připojil David Gilmour, až do období před vznikem zásadní desky The Dark Side Of The Moon. Zároveň s boxem vychází také 2CD The Early Years – CRE/ATION obsahující sedmadvacet vybraných nahrávek.
